About the role
As a Security Officer Hospital Response Services in Independence, MO, you will serve and safeguard clients in healthcare environments. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will support a caring environment through teamwork, reliability, and integrity while responding professionally to security-related needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
- Respond to incidents, critical situations, and medical-related emergencies in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and escorts as needed, and report unusual conditions or incidents to site leadership.
- Document observations, incidents, and completed patrols accurately in accordance with site-specific reporting procedures.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Ability to meet hospital vaccination requirements.
- Ability to work in a hospital environment that includes a morgue.
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Ability to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
