About the role

As a Security Officer Hospital Response Services in Independence, MO, you will serve and safeguard clients in healthcare environments. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will support a caring environment through teamwork, reliability, and integrity while responding professionally to security-related needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, critical situations, and medical-related emergencies in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and escorts as needed, and report unusual conditions or incidents to site leadership.
  • Document observations, incidents, and completed patrols accurately in accordance with site-specific reporting procedures.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Ability to meet hospital vaccination requirements.
  • Ability to work in a hospital environment that includes a morgue.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
  • Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Thursday: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
  • Friday: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
  • Saturday: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
  • Sunday: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
