About the role
As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government location in Los Angeles, CA, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to evolving situations. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a caring, reliable team that acts with integrity and embraces innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and public agency personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, access concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency services as needed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government facilities, parking areas, public spaces, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and observe visitor, contractor, and employee activity in accordance with established site procedures.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain activity logs for incidents, patrols, and security-related observations.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Valid firearms permit is preferred.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
