Security Officer - General Duty

About the role

As a Security Officer - General Duty in Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Security Officer in a dynamic retail location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a busy retail location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while communicating clearly with store personnel, visitors, and management.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout sales floors, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
• Monitor access points, observe customer and associate activity, and report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or maintenance concerns to the appropriate contacts.
• Support loss prevention and crowd management efforts during peak business hours, special events, and/or high-traffic periods while documenting incidents according to site procedures.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
