About the role
As an Access Control Officer at a retail distribution location in Lacey, WA, you will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying badges and visitor access, and documenting security-related activities. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly with employees and visitors, and use technology to support daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a retail distribution location.
- Monitor and control access points for employees, contractors, vendors, and incoming and outgoing vehicles; verify credentials, maintain visitor logs, and communicate entry requirements.
- Observe loading dock, gate, and perimeter activity; report unauthorized access attempts, unusual conditions, and security-related concerns according to site procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency services when needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, loading docks, and the facility perimeter, documenting observations and maintaining accurate security-related records.
Requirements
- At least one year of security-related experience.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
