About the role
As a Front Desk Security Officer at a shelter location, you will provide a welcoming presence, monitor access, assist visitors and residents, and communicate concerns to help maintain a secure environment. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and security-related protocols at a shelter location.
- Serve as a professional front desk presence by greeting visitors, verifying authorized access, maintaining visitor records, and directing individuals to appropriate resources or staff members.
- Monitor entry areas, cameras, alarms, and communication systems as assigned, and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, or security-related issues to appropriate personnel.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
- Maintain accurate daily activity logs, incident reports, and front desk documentation while protecting confidential information.
Requirements
- Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
