Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Emergency Preparedness

About the role

As a Full Time Unarmed Patrol Security Officer in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as aerospace and defense. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and support a secure environment. The role involves providing exceptional customer service, professional communication, and responding to security-related concerns while reflecting Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, care, teamwork, and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, offices, parking areas, and perimeter locations to identify and report unusual activity or potential hazards.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, documenting observations and reporting concerns.
• Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications while following established post orders and client protocols.

Requirements

• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal considers qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Pay

$19.95 per hour.

• Thursday: 9:30 PM – 5:30 AM
• Friday: 9:30 PM – 5:30 AM
• Sunday: 9:30 PM – 5:30 AM
