About the role

As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government services location in New York, NY, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide professional customer service to staff and visitors. You will communicate clearly, respond to concerns, and support an orderly environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, surrounding grounds, entry points, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and document visitor, contractor, and incident information accurately.
• Maintain a visible presence in a government human-services location and communicate professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
