About the role
Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location in Sterling, VA. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to alarms, and provide outstanding customer service and communication.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, perimeter, parking areas, entrances, and other assigned areas to help identify unusual activity or conditions.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and maintain accurate logs, reports, and shift documentation.
- Communicate professionally with employees, contractors, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related concerns and site operations.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
