Security Officer Full-Time Unarmed

About the role

Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location in Sterling, VA. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to alarms, and provide outstanding customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, perimeter, parking areas, entrances, and other assigned areas to help identify unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and maintain accurate logs, reports, and shift documentation.
• Communicate professionally with employees, contractors, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related concerns and site operations.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
