About the role
As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location in Phoenix, AZ, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. This driving position supports a caring, people-first culture while working with an agile, reliable, and innovative team that delivers through teamwork and acts with integrity.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of government facilities, perimeter areas, access points, parking areas, and surrounding grounds to help identify unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access to designated areas, verify credentials as required, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site-specific procedures.
- Communicate professionally with site personnel, public agencies, and Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents, observations, and operational needs.
Requirements
- Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or a college degree.
- Valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements (for driving positions only).
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
