About the role

As an Unarmed Access Control Security Officer in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Tech, Media, and Telecom. You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, help deter incidents, manage access control and badge activity, respond to alarms, and deliver outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, or unauthorized access.
  • Monitor access control points, visitor activity, and credential requirements in accordance with site procedures; document and report access-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; communicate with site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
  • Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoff documentation while maintaining a professional presence in a dynamic technology-focused environment.

Requirements

  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPR certification.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Access control and badge experience.
  • Alarm panel experience.

Pay

$20.80 / hour

Schedule

  • Tuesday: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
  • Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
  • Thursday: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
  • Saturday: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
  • Sunday: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
