Security Officer Full Time TWIC Gate Operations

About the role

As an Access Control Officer, you will help maintain a welcoming, controlled marine terminal environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing visitor access, and supporting badge-related processes. You will remain visible, communicate professionally with employees and guests, and report security-related concerns while helping to deter unauthorized activity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, employees, and contractors while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify identification and authorization, issue and collect visitor credentials, and maintain accurate access logs in accordance with site procedures.
• Screen incoming and outgoing vehicles, deliveries, and personnel as directed, reporting unauthorized access attempts or irregular conditions to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and communicate relevant information through established reporting channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of terminal access areas, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Requirements

• Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
