Security Officer Full Time Transportation Terminal
About the role
As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Inspection in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a public ferry transportation location.
- Respond to incidents, passenger concerns, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of ferry terminals, waiting areas, entrances, docks, surrounding perimeters, and other assigned areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and observe public areas for unusual activity, reporting security-related concerns, hazards, and maintenance issues to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with maintaining an orderly environment during passenger boarding, disembarkation, special events, and service disruptions while providing clear directions and courteous assistance.
Requirements
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
- Minimum age requirement for unarmed roles: 18 years old.
- Minimum age requirement for armed roles: 21 years old.
Skills
- Ability to respond calmly and professionally to incidents and emergencies.
- Knowledge of security protocols and emergency response procedures.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Physical ability to perform patrol duties including standing, walking, and lifting.
