About the role

As a Full Time Unarmed Security Officer in Staten Island, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government. Allied Universal is hiring Unarmed Security Officers to support a government transportation location. Officers conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, assist passengers and staff, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to ferry terminal passengers, visitors, and personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of ferry terminal areas, passenger waiting areas, boarding locations, access points, and surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and assist with visitor guidance and crowd-flow support during ferry operations.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site personnel and emergency responders as needed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and activity logs, documenting incidents, observations, patrols, and security-related concerns in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
