Security Officer (Full-Time, Temporary, Nights)

About the role

This position is part of an organized hospital-wide program designed to promote the personal safety of employees, physicians, volunteers, patients, visitors, and others conducting business within the hospital. The Security Officer is responsible for protecting, preventing, observing, and reporting any situations concerning the hospital, and taking appropriate action when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Protect, prevent, observe, and report any situations concerning the hospital
• Take appropriate action when necessary
• Work in a standing position for long periods of time
• Follow instructions and policy and procedures
• Produce concise, accurate, and well-written reports
• Respond to emergency situations in a calm and effective manner
• Fulfill the essential functions of the position

Requirements

• Previous security experience
• College level courses in law enforcement, security, or a related field, or completion of basic law enforcement training
• Hospital experience
• Valid California Driver’s License
• Eligible to be insured under the Medical Center’s Liability Policy with DMV Report (and minimum age 21)
• Current California State Consumer Affairs Guard Card
• Current CPR recognition (American Heart Association-Health Care Provider or American Red Cross – Professional Rescuer)

• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time
• Ability to follow instructions and policy and procedures
• Ability to produce concise, accurate, and well-written reports
• Strong public relations skills
• Ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm and effective manner

Pay

Your rate of pay will be based on applicable experience. Shift: Nights. Days off: Variable. Hours per pay period: 80. Shift length: 10 Hours.

Schedule

Shifts are scheduled based on hospital needs and may vary.
