About the Role

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Emergency Response in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and report security-related concerns. This role supports a government location, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while being part of a caring, reliable team that prioritizes integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities at a government-operated shelter location.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site personnel and emergency services as directed by policy.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, perimeter locations, and other designated spaces, to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization according to site procedures, and maintain awareness of security-related conditions that may require reporting or follow-up.
  • Prepare accurate reports and shift documentation for incidents, observations, patrols, and other security-related activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Comply with licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations, which may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Pay

$18.87 per hour.
