Security Officer Full Time Patrol
About the role
As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Alarm Panel Specialist in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control activities, and respond to alarms as needed. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while contributing to a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team that acts with integrity.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology and data infrastructure location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, access points, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access control points, visitor activity, and restricted areas; verify credentials in accordance with site procedures and document access-related concerns.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain activity logs for patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related concerns.
Requirements
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Applicants will also be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
