Security Officer Full Time Patrol Support

About the role

As a Security Officer Full Time Patrol Support in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer in a dynamic educational arts setting, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support students, staff, and visitors through strong customer service and clear communication while working with a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at an educational location with public-facing spaces.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through proper channels when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, exhibition areas, classrooms, entrances, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor, student, and staff activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or policy violations according to site expectations.
• Support daily operations by assisting with directions, answering general questions, and documenting security-related incidents, observations, and/or unusual activity.

Requirements

• Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Must pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Must pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Skills

• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to respond calmly to incidents and disturbances.
• Knowledge of site-specific policies and emergency response procedures.
• Attention to detail and ability to monitor and report suspicious activity.
