About the role
As an unarmed patrol officer supporting a dynamic technology data center location in Columbus, OH, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. This driving role calls for teamwork, integrity, and a reliable, caring approach while supporting a professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, vendors, and personnel at a technology data center by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of data center buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access control points, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and report access-related concerns or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and documentation procedures.
- Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation while communicating professionally with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
Requirements
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
- Valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- Valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
