Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Customer Care in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As a Security Officer at a renowned cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol galleries and assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional service to visitors, staff, and guests. You will support a welcoming environment through clear communication, teamwork, and integrity while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, researchers, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within a cultural institution setting.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of galleries, public areas, staff spaces, entrances, exits, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor flow, verify authorization as required, and report unusual activity, facility conditions, or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with maintaining a welcoming environment for museum guests while supporting the protection of collections, exhibits, and property in accordance with site procedures.

Requirements

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
