About the Role

The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of all guests, employees, and visitors at the hotel. This role ensures the protection of hotel assets, compliance with corporate security policies and local regulations, and handles fire prevention, safety checks, and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Sonesta Service in all guest and client interactions, adhering to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Perform hotel security functions, including fire prevention and safety checks.
• Investigate thefts, accidents, and other incidents on the property.
• Prevent losses of company and guest property due to theft or criminal activity.
• Ensure a safe environment for guests and employees.
• Assist guests and colleagues with security and safety inquiries.
• Resolve complaints related to safety and security matters.
• Conduct floor patrols, secure facilities during non-operating hours, and monitor personnel activities.
• Complete accident and incident reports.
• Report hotel deficiencies to appropriate departments for repair.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Regular and punctual attendance.
• Ability to adhere to the property’s grooming standards.
• Ability to stand, walk, and run as needed for extended periods.
• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in all weather conditions.
• Understanding and execution of safety and emergency procedures (e.g., fire, crowd control, inclement weather, bomb threats).
• Ability to operate emergency equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, wheelchairs, respirators).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and push/pull up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to lift and move an immobilized adult in emergencies.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb (stairs/ladder), and reach.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
• Proficiency in using communication equipment (e.g., telephones, radios).
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to interact courteously, empathetically, and discreetly with guests and employees.
• High degree of customer service, including positive personal presentation and eye contact.
• Willingness to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

Pay Range: $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
