Security Officer Role Overview

The position involves providing security services at a hospital, including conducting armed patrols of buildings and grounds via foot and vehicle, ensuring access control, visitor management, and safe traffic flow. Responding to emergencies as a first responder, collaborating with law enforcement, and offering protective escorts are key responsibilities. The role requires observing, investigating, and documenting safety or security threats through interviews, incident reports, and dispatch operations. Managing property control procedures to safeguard and release items per security protocols is also essential.

Candidate Qualifications And Skills

• Must hold valid armed security credentials (FOID, PERC, FCC, firearms training), with the ability to qualify and maintain firearm proficiency
• Valid driver's license from Illinois, Wisconsin, or Indiana with a clean record is required
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including standing, walking, and exposure to weather, while wearing body armor
• High school diploma or GED is necessary; hospital security experience is preferred
• Sound judgment, discretion, strong customer service skills, and the ability to handle confidential matters
