Security Officer Full Time Armed Mobile Patrol

As a full‑time Armed Mobile Patrol Officer in Norfolk, VA, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas at a marine industrial location, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, conduct routine rounds, respond to security‑related concerns, communicate professionally with personnel and visitors, and support a welcoming environment. The role requires integrity, reliability, and a team‑focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, including situations involving access control, unauthorized persons, and facility alarms.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the business, perimeter, parking areas, and other assigned locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry and exit of personnel, visitors, and vehicles in accordance with site procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and promptly communicate security‑related incidents, observed hazards, and unusual activity to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid armed guard card or license.
• At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Eligibility for consideration despite criminal history, consistent with applicable laws.
• Drug screening as permitted by law.
• Participation in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements subject to state and/or local regulations; may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

• Tuesday: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
• Wednesday: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
• Saturday: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Sunday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
