Security Officer Full Time Access Desk

About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location in University Park, IL, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and drivers. You will use a computer or tablet to document security-related information, communicate clearly, and help deter incidents through a visible presence.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access to the distribution location by verifying credentials, processing visitor and driver entries, and maintaining accurate access records.
• Observe inbound and outbound vehicle activity, delivery areas, and restricted access points, reporting unusual activity according to site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the business, perimeter, parking areas, and loading zones to help deter unauthorized access and support security-related operations.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
