About the role
As an Access Control Officer at a leading aerospace and defense location, you will help maintain a professional, controlled environment by verifying credentials, managing visitor access, monitoring entry points, and documenting security-related activity. You will provide outstanding customer service while helping to deter incidents through a visible presence and clear communication.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Control access to restricted areas by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor entry records, and following established access-control protocols.
- Monitor entry points, access-control systems, and alarm notifications; report irregularities, unauthorized access attempts, and equipment concerns according to site procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Requirements
- Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
