Security Officer for Outdoor Mall Patrol

About the role

As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail and mall location in Long Beach, CA, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for visitors, tenants, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond to security-related concerns with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail and mall location.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and communicating with appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout interior common areas, exterior walkways, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe activity throughout the property, and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, hazards, and/or policy violations to site management or Allied Universal leadership.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation, and maintain a professional, customer-focused presence while interacting with the public.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Pay

$21.50 / hour

Schedule

• Friday: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Saturday: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
