Security Officer Entry Authorization

About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a transportation location, you will help maintain a welcoming, secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access credentials, managing visitor activity, and responding to security-related concerns. Your visible presence, professional communication, and customer-focused service will help support daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, vessel operators, and transportation personnel by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to marina facilities, docks, restricted areas, and parking locations; verify credentials and direct authorized individuals and vehicles according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; communicate observations to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Maintain accurate access-control logs, visitor records, vehicle information, and incident documentation in accordance with site policies.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned marina areas, buildings, docks, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
