Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Coverage

About the Role

Allied Universal® offers a flexible, part-time Security Officer – Enhanced position designed for individuals seeking supplemental income, hands-on experience, or a pathway to a full-time career. This role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site in Hammond, IN, with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts.

Pay Rate: $19.57 / Hour

Schedule: Daytime, Saturday, 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be assigned a designated site and weekly shift, requiring a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: Pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Adjust your hours weekly—work part-time one week and full-time the next, with the option to scale back as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Respond to incidents, delivery-related concerns, access issues, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate site contacts as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, parking areas, loading docks, trailer yards, access points, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying authorized personnel, visitors, and vehicles in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Observe loading, unloading, and vehicle movement areas for security-related concerns, maintaining awareness of changing operational conditions and reporting issues promptly.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
