As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time TWIC Credential Intake in Tampa, FL, this role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, contractors, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to port and logistics areas by verifying credentials, visitor authorizations, delivery documentation, and vehicle entry requirements.
• Operate access-control systems, maintain accurate visitor and vehicle logs, issue temporary credentials as authorized, and report discrepancies to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.

Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• A TSA-issued TWIC is required.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Sun: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.

Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites.
