Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Security

About the Role

This position is a part-time, enhanced security officer role based in Los Angeles, CA. It is designed for individuals seeking flexible, dependable hours with the option to supplement their income or gain experience. The role includes a fixed weekly shift with the ability to pick up additional shifts through a scheduling platform.

Schedule

Pay Rate: $20.09 / Hour

Fixed-Shift Commitment: Daytime, Saturday and Sunday, 05:00 AM – 01:00 PM. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.

In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours one week and full-time the next, with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence-adjacent locations, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to identify and report unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical calls, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific protocols and contacting appropriate campus resources and/or emergency services.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor activity in assigned areas, supporting authorized access and reporting suspicious activity.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with supervisors, campus personnel, and Allied Universal team members regarding incidents, observations, and shift activities.

Minimum Requirements

• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
