Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including requesting assistance from emergency services and/or public agencies when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials when required, and document security-related incidents, observations, and/or daily activities in accordance with site procedures.
• Support public-facing operations by assisting with directions, answering general questions, and reporting maintenance, access, and/or security-related concerns to the appropriate contacts.

Requirements

• An Armed Guard Card and/or license is required.
• A Corrections Officer license is required.
• A Law Enforcement Officer license is required.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum age requirement for armed roles: 21 years old.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug screen.

Skills

• Customer service skills.
• Emergency response and problem-solving abilities.
• Armed patrol and security monitoring experience.
• Knowledge of site-specific policies and procedures.
• Ability to handle emergencies and request assistance.

Pay Rate: $23.25 / Hour
