Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control Coordinator

About the Role

Allied Universal® is seeking a part‑time Security Officer – Enhanced to serve as an Access Control Coordinator at a logistics and distribution site in Northampton, PA. The position offers reliable, consistent hours with the flexibility to pick up additional shifts for extra earnings and experience.

How This Role Works

• Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six‑month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time one week and full‑time the next, up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorizations, issue visitor passes, and maintain accurate access logs.
• Coordinate visitor, vendor, and delivery‑driver access, directing authorized individuals to appropriate check‑in areas, docks, and designated locations.
• Respond to access‑related incidents and critical situations calmly, escalating concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, trailer yards, and the business perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements

• Prior experience with access control systems and badge management (issuing, tracking, and managing badges for employees and visitors) – preferred.
• Strong customer service experience – preferred.
• Proficiency using a computer or tablet for software applications, email, and data entry – preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Possibly meet licensing requirements based on state or local regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Pay

$18.03 per hour

Schedule

Daytime – Saturday 4:00 AM – 10:00 AM; Sunday 4:00 AM – 10:00 AM
