About the role

This Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position is a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career. As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Verification Patrol in Katy, TX, you’ll have reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts.

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule, requiring a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: Pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours one week and full-time the next—up to 40 hours per week—with the option to scale back as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility buildings, access points, parking areas, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations within a chemical and petrochemical environment.
• Monitor access activity and visitor or contractor credentials in accordance with site requirements, reporting irregularities and access concerns to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, hazardous-condition reports, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner while following established protocols.
• Complete accurate patrol logs, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant observations to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Requirements

• At least six months of security-related experience; experience with access control and badge processes is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws; Allied Universal considers qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Note: This site has limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.

Pay

$14.71 per hour.
