Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols and reporting requirements.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking areas, walkways, and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting suspicious conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare clear and accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports while maintaining professional communication with the campus community.
Minimum Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
