Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, campus concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while documenting relevant details and sharing information through appropriate channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, grounds, entrances, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials when required, and provide directions or assistance in alignment with site expectations.
• Support school operations by observing daily activity, reporting maintenance or behavioral concerns, and communicating with site contacts regarding security-related issues.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Skills

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills.
