Security Officer-Broadway (Mon-Fri) (2 pm - 10 pm)

Responsibilities

• Complete regular security rounds
• Check for and verify proper identification
• Sign-in/out individuals
• Provide escort services
• Control building ingress and egress
• Write reports
• Ensure adherence and compliance of Institute policies
• Promptly respond to disturbances while on duty

Requirements

• Must possess or obtain a Maryland Security Guard Certification within 30 days of employment
• May require Class “D” Maryland driver’s license with no more than two points depending on assigned location

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required

Skills

• Knowledge of Institute’s methods, protocols, policies, and procedures
• Ability to enforce and demonstrate compliance of security-related policies/procedures
• Proficiency in inspecting packages and monitoring CCTV systems
• Ability to assist with investigations and document/report suspicious activity
• Knowledge of maintaining assigned work environments and reporting safety/security issues
• Ability to assist with training new/less experienced security officers and contract staff

Benefits

• Targeted starting salary/hourly rate of $17/h increasing to $19/hour after one year
