About the Role
The Security Services Team is seeking a per diem Security Officer to join their team. This position is per diem with variable hours. The Security Officer role is responsible for monitoring the healthcare environment to help prevent security incidents from occurring and deescalating incidents as they emerge. May provide protective services and, with sufficient training, patient restraints as deemed necessary by medical staff.
Key Duties
- Ability to operate a security vehicle (Driver's License required)
- This is a uniformed position (ballistic vest and body camera)
- Communication with staff and patients in a calm demeanor under duress
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. If appropriate for location, must obtain IAHSS certification within one year of hire required.
- License/Certifications: Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Valid Driver's license if required at local Health System. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or similar to be completed within local Health System requirements. Completion of HIC 100, 200, and 700 if required by facility.
- Experience: Relevant experience in hospital safety and security preferred.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $20.27 to $24.36 per hour. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
