Security Officer

About the Role

As a Security Officer at DK Security, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients' properties. Your duties will vary depending on the specific contract, offering a diverse and challenging work environment.

• Customer Service: Be a positive reflection of the company and yourself by assisting client staff, visitors, and coworkers, and maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Observe and Report: Stay alert for suspicious activities and incidents.
• Security Presence: Maintain a professional appearance and stand guard in and around building lobbies, reception areas, control centers, etc.
• Patrol: Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas.
• Access Control: Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas, check employee and vendor IDs, and follow proper access procedures.
• Safety: Enforce policies and procedures of the assigned location and report safety concerns.
• Emergency Response: Assist in emergencies, including administering CPR/First Aid/AED care and communicating with emergency personnel.
• Security Liaison: Maintain professional communication with client staff and keep the site supervisor/operations manager updated.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Must pass a drug screening at hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana, due to federal compliance).
• Must not have been convicted of any felonies or disqualifying misdemeanors (e.g., dishonesty, fraud, assault, weapons, controlled substances, or two or more alcohol-related offenses).
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for 8-12 hours at a time, including stairs.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified (or willing to become certified) and capable of administering lifesaving care.
• Must have 20/20 vision (corrected if necessary) and be able to hear conversations in loud environments.
• Must be able to use a smartphone or computer for emails and online training.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Must possess excellent customer service skills, personal integrity, and a positive attitude.
• Must complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.

Note: Applicants previously removed from a contract or on disciplinary probation at separation will not be considered.

Skills

• No prior experience required.
• Military veterans and individuals with security, firefighting, corrections, or law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply.

Pay

$17.00 - $19.00/hour, depending on experience, availability, shift, and location.

Schedule

Part-time position with shifts available Monday through Sunday (1st and 2nd shifts). Flexible availability may allow up to 39 hours per week.
