Security Officer

About the Role

As a Security Officer at DK Security, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients' properties. Your duties will vary depending on the specific contract, offering a diverse and challenging work environment.

• Customer Service: Be a positive reflection of the company and yourself by assisting client staff, visitors, and coworkers, and maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Observe and Report: Stay alert and report any suspicious activities and incidents.
• Security Presence: Maintain a professional appearance and stand guard in and around building lobbies, reception areas, control centers, etc.
• Patrol: Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas.
• Access Control: Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas, check employee and vendor IDs, and follow proper access procedures.
• Safety: Enforce policies and procedures of the assigned location and report any safety concerns.
• Emergency Response: Assist in emergencies, including administering CPR/First Aid/AED care and communicating with emergency personnel using proper protocols.
• Security Liaison: Maintain professional communication with client staff, follow through with client requests, and keep supervisors updated on all client communications.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
• Must pass a drug screening at hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana; federal compliance required).
• Must not have been convicted of any felonies or disqualifying misdemeanors (e.g., dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information, controlled substances, or two or more alcohol-related offenses).
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk (including stairs) for 8–12 hours at a time.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified (or willing to become certified) and physically capable of administering lifesaving care.
• Must have 20/20 vision (corrected if necessary) and be able to hear conversations in loud environments (in-person or via radio).
• Must be able to use a smartphone or computer to check emails and complete online training.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Must possess excellent customer service skills, personal integrity, and a positive attitude.
• Must complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.

Note: Employees previously removed from a contract or on disciplinary probation at separation will not be considered.

Qualifications

No prior experience is required. Military veterans and individuals with security, firefighting, corrections, or law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply.

Schedule

• Thursday: 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM
• Friday: 8:30 AM – 8:00 PM

This is a part-time position with 0–29 hours per week guaranteed.

$22.19/hour

This is not an armed security position; weapons are not permitted on the premises, including in personal vehicles.
