Security Officer

About the Role
As a Security Officer at DK Security, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients' properties. Your duties will vary depending on the specific contract, offering a diverse and challenging work environment.
- Customer Service: Be a positive reflection of the company and yourself by assisting client staff, visitors, and coworkers, and maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Observe and Report: Stay alert and monitor for suspicious activities and incidents.
- Security Presence: Maintain a professional appearance and stand guard in and around building lobbies, reception areas, control centers, etc.
- Patrols: Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas.
- Access Control: Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas, verify employee and vendor IDs, and follow proper access procedures.
- Emergency Response: Assist in emergencies, including administering CPR/First Aid/AED care and communicating with emergency personnel using proper protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
- Must pass a drug screening at hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana; federal compliance required).
- No felony convictions.
- No misdemeanor convictions related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information/evidence, controlled substances (including marijuana), or two or more alcohol-related offenses.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk (including stairs) for 8–12 hours at a time.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs (70 lbs for armed positions).
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certified (or willingness to obtain certification) and physically capable of administering lifesaving care.
- Ability to see clearly at least 20 feet away (with corrective lenses if needed).
- Ability to hear conversations in loud environments (in-person or via radio).
- Proficiency in using smart mobile phones/computers for emails and online training.
- Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Professionalism, excellent customer service skills, personal integrity, and a positive attitude.
- Timely completion of required trainings and adherence to all client/company policies.
Skills
Military veterans and individuals with experience in security, firefighting, corrections, or law enforcement are encouraged to apply.
Pay
$18.00/hour
Schedule
Part-time, various days. Shifts include 0700–1500 and 1000–1800.
This is an unarmed security position; weapons are not permitted on the premises, including in personal vehicles.
