Security Officer

About the role

Allied Universal® offers a flexible, dependable part-time enhanced security officer position in Houston, TX. This role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts. It is ideal for individuals seeking part-time employment with income stability and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week.

You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift, requiring a six-month commitment. Through our Claim-A-Shift program, you may pick up extra shifts to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout retail sales areas, parking lots, loading areas, and the business perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe customer and employee activity for unusual conditions, policy violations, or potential loss-prevention concerns.
• Document incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security-related experience.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license (required for driving positions only).
• Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.

Pay

$22.00 per hour.
