About the role
As an Armed Security Officer supporting a technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will conduct routine patrols, monitor access points, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will use strong communication and customer service skills while responding to concerns and supporting a secure environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a technology, media, and telecommunications operations location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and emergency responders as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access control systems, cameras, and other site equipment; document observations, incidents, and patrol activity in accordance with site procedures.
- Verify credentials and authorize entry in accordance with established access procedures while maintaining a professional, customer-focused presence.
Requirements
- Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess an Act 235 qualification in Pennsylvania.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
