Security Officer Armed Route Patrol Driver

About the role
As an Armed Route Patrol Driver in Lakewood Ranch, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Education. This part-time position offers flexibility to build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As an Armed Patrol Officer at an educational location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This driving position requires strong communication, customer service, and security awareness to respond to concerns.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations, reporting unusual conditions and helping to deter unauthorized activity.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and coordinating with campus personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry when applicable, and document security-related incidents, observations, and patrol activities.
- Carry assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, applicable laws, training requirements, and site-specific procedures.
Requirements
- Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
- Valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
- At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
Pay
$21.70 / Hour
Schedule
- Wednesday: 06:30 PM - 10:30 PM
- Thursday: 06:30 PM - 10:30 PM
- Saturday: 12:30 PM - 05:30 PM
