About the role
As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government location in Windsor, NC, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to situations as they arise. This driving post calls for strong communication, sound judgment, and a customer-focused approach.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, parking locations, and access points to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor entrances, gates, visitor areas, and restricted locations; verify credentials and maintain awareness of authorized movement in accordance with site policies.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; communicate with appropriate personnel and public protection agencies as directed.
- Prepare accurate reports and daily activity logs, documenting patrols, incidents, observations, and other security-related activities.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
- Valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Armed guard card or license is preferred.
- At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- Valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
