Security Officer Armed PRN
About the Role
As an Armed Security Officer at St. Mark's Hospital, you will impact the lives of patients, customers, and caregivers by maintaining a safe healing environment and providing excellent customer service. You will build rapport with a diverse patient and staff population while helping to better serve the community.
Responsibilities
- Provide protection services for hospital staff, patients, visitors, and property as a sworn law enforcement officer.
- Perform approved police actions in compliance with state laws and police department policies to deter or terminate crimes in progress.
- Enforce hospital rules and policies related to security, ensuring a visible deterrent to crime and violence on campus.
- Assist hospital security, staff, physicians, patients, and visitors in maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Conduct building and ground patrols and respond to all emergency codes and alarms.
- Assist with Helipad duties, morgue procedures, parking enforcement, and employee/patient escorts.
- Investigate thefts, disturbances, and suspicious activity within the hospital facility and grounds.
- Assist medical personnel with patient restraints as directed.
- Monitor and contain disruptions by visitors or patient families and call for outside law enforcement as necessary.
Requirements
- Must be currently employed as a full-time law enforcement officer in good standing with the associated police department.
- Requires 2 years of armed security or police experience or equivalent.
