Security Officer Armed Patrol Protective Services

About the role

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Officer to support a government location in Miami, Florida. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide professional customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government locations
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and notifying appropriate personnel and/or public service agencies
• Monitor access to government facilities, verify credentials as directed, and report unauthorized entry attempts or suspicious activity
• Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation, and handle authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and Allied Universal procedures

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Possess a college degree, a DD214 with an honorable discharge, an associate degree, 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate
• A guard card or license is preferred; a state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred; an armed guard card or license is preferred
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law

• Position Type: Full Time
• Day: Thursday 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Friday 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Saturday 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
