Security Officer Armed Patrol Services

About the role

Join Allied Universal at a government location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support access awareness with strong customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or public emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, entry points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Maintain access control and observe daily activity to help to deter unauthorized entry, assist with reporting concerns, and support site protocols for government operations.
• Absorb security-related checks of doors, gates, lighting, and common areas, and report maintenance issues, hazards, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.

Requirements

• Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
• Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or 5 or more years of armed security-related experience.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of security procedures and emergency response protocols.
