What You'll Do
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts and/or local authorities as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Maintain a visible armed presence while following post orders, using sound judgment during interactions and escalating security-related issues when appropriate.
Minimum Requirements
- Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- Possess a valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located.
- Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a Virginia DCJS license.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
