Job Description

The Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position provides a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands‑on experience, or work toward a full‑time career with the industry leader. As a Security Officer Armed Part Time Patrol in Fairfax, VA, you will have reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts.

$21.74 per hour

Schedule

Daytime – Wednesday 06:00 PM – 10:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): Hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as a reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six‑month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to the fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time one week and full‑time the next, with the option to scale back as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established site protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations, while observing and reporting unusual activity or conditions.
• Maintain a professional armed presence to deter unauthorized access, disturbances, and other security‑related concerns while interacting respectfully with diverse members of the public.
• Complete required reports, activity logs, and incident documentation accurately and in accordance with site requirements and Allied Universal procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• At least two years of security‑related experience.
• An Armed Guard Card or license.
• A Virginia DCJS license.
• CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screening as permitted by law.
• Participation in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment, subject to state and/or local regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
