Security Officer Armed Gate Access

About the role

Join Allied Universal as an Armed Officer in an access control location where you will monitor entry points, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, members, vendors, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or authorization, and help to control access for vehicles, deliveries, and pedestrian traffic.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues according to site procedures.
• Maintain accurate access logs, visitor records, and incident documentation while communicating relevant activity to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unusual activity and reporting maintenance, access, and/or security-related concerns.

Requirements

• Possess an armed guard card and unarmed guard card.
• Provide proof of high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of security protocols and emergency response procedures.
