Security Officer Armed Full Time Multiple Shifts

About the role
As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government location in Richmond, VA, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and provide professional customer service and communication. This role requires an armed guard card or license and offers the opportunity to demonstrate integrity, reliability, teamwork, and a caring, people-first approach.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors at a government facility by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor access points and verify authorization for individuals, vehicles, deliveries, and contractors in accordance with site procedures.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, patrol activities, unusual conditions, and policy violations, and coordinate with law enforcement and/or emergency responders when required.
Requirements
- Possess a valid Armed Guard Card or License.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

$18.00 / Hour

- Tuesday: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
- Wednesday: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
- Thursday: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
- Saturday: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
